Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and its US partner ConocoPhillips have issued a series of engineering, procurement and construction packages for the onshore Shah gas field development project.
Winning bidders for most of the packages are expected to be selected by the end of the year, a source said. Shah has a production target of 1 billion cubic feet per day, but the gas is very sour and the scheme faces technical difficulties, including a proposed pipeline to carry sulphur. The project is being implemented by a 60:40 partnership between state company Adnoc and ConocoPhillips.
